Pilot Pen’s FriXion Fineliner erasable marker pen has been named as the 2020 Product of the Year in an awards ceremony in New York.

The pen claimed the top prize in the office supplies category at Product of the Year USA, the country’s largest consumer-voted award for product innovation. The award was announced last week during a special ceremony that took place in New York City.

“Pilot Pen is honoured to receive this distinction for our FriXion Fineliner, especially as it comes directly from consumers’ experiences with our product,” said Ariann Langsam, VP of Marketing at Pilot Corporation of America. “The FriXion line has truly changed the way Americans think about writing and the erasable pen category, [and] we look forward to helping more people write and create fearlessly.”

Product of the Year winners are determined by a polling process that canvasses the opinions of 40,000 US consumers. Pilot will now have the right to use the Product of the Year logo in marketing communications for the next two years.
